What are the Chakras?
The word “Chakra” is an ancient Sanskrit
word that means “wheel”. There are 7 major Chakras or “wheels of energy”
that spin out of the human body. Each Chakra has a particular color and
progresses like colors of the rainbow from base to crown.
What do the
Chakras do?
The Chakras are responsible for keeping
our bodies balanced, -each Chakra has a specific territory or part of
the body that it looks after. When a Chakra is out of balance the result
can be physical, emotional, spiritual or mental distress. The lower
Chakras (solar plexus, sacral and base) are more focused on our physical
needs such as survival, protection and pro-creation. The four higher
Chakras are responsible for higher states of mind such as intelligence,
love and vision.
